@maacdaan987 @Goldenseed13 @NobletStrength Just to fact check you. The NBA is just one league. There exists dozens of different leagues with a different winner each year like Serie A. Let’s not also talk about how Celtics and Lakers account for nearly 50% of all NBA wins. 🤣

The idea American sports don't prioritize winning and don't punish losing is something people only people entirely uninvolved in American sports could agree with. If anything, the stereotype of Americans is that we are overcompetitive to the point of it being counterproductive.
USMNT Only@usmntonly

Mauricio Pochettino said that ‘American sports reward losers’ when asked about the style of play in top European nations vs. in the U.S. 😯🇺🇸 QUESTION: “We know how England, France, Spain play… Players from countries with a strong tradition have a recognizable style. What is the style of the US team? What kind of football do the Americans want to play?” ANSWER: “Their culture is playful. They want to play. We told them, “Guys, playing soccer is one thing, competing is another.” They’re two completely different sports. They grow up in a culture of playing. Why? If you start in MLS and you haven’t won a game in three months and you’re at the bottom, what’s the consequence if there’s no promotion or relegation, no international competition? American sports reward losers! But soccer is different: if you reward those who don’t win… If you don’t have goals, you don’t fight. If I lose, what happens? Nothing. They just fire the coach. Also, the American player is disciplined. But with a sense of complacency that isn’t good in soccer. It took us a year and a half to change that mentality.” [EL PAIS]

@alexboge The actual concept of the movie was fine. The problem was the execution and the numerous brain busting plot holes. The acting was great too. It's just such a pity that they don't have anyone to review the scripts and tell these guys wtf is okay to have and what not.

It really was a lame movie. Strip away the directors name and Disclosure Day wouldn’t run long after a direct to Netflix release. There is nothing special about it. The only people defending it are defending the concept of “disclosure” - they’re defending their worldview, beliefs, identity.

The art director for Obsession says she was paid less than $7,000 and is now calling for industry reform after the film grossed nearly $175 million. I get wanting better pay in the industry, but this is how contracts work. You agreed to a flat fee before anyone knew the movie would become a massive hit. If you wanted upside, you could have negotiated for points, royalties, or a profit-sharing agreement. Taking the guaranteed money, watching the movie become huge, and then saying you deserve a cut after the fact is ridiculous.

What a complete predictable tool this guy is. No backbone, no lasting talent, just a one-off and then an instant remake with some PR excuse about how “But I want to do it right” Nobody wants this but the suits who can get paid making it because they collect fees green lighting a safe and already known IP — essentially a coloring book they own, but they let him use crayons to color inside the lines. Hollywood is completely devoid of new ideas and cannot afford them. Curry Barker is already finished as an artist and is just a spokesperson for corporate showbiz now. He clearly believes his own myth too. Believing one’s own myth is what ends them and what keeps the non creatives in charge and taking all the loot. PR will make it look like he’s winning but really he’s just been destroyed long term. The first Gen Z to he captured by the system. What a dumb sucker.
Culture Crave 🍿@CultureCrave

Curry Barker on his upcoming 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre' movie for A24 ⛓️ "I want to make a new generation of people scared and give them this feeling of: 'What if you went on a road trip with your friends and this happened to you?' I want to capture the rawness and the grounded-ness of the original" "I wouldn’t be interested if I didn’t think I could find a way in that feels fresh and new, while still respecting the original. The canon itself is all over the place, so there’s not much to stay loyal to other than the original" He watched all 10 films in the franchise to prepare for developing it: "Some of those movies just turn out to be a guy with a chainsaw chasing a person around. It doesn’t work to just have a chase movie. They’re hiding in a barn. It gets old. And I don’t buy it — a chainsaw is loud but they don’t hear it? I hate when you’re watching a movie and you’re thinking, “Just do this [instead]" (via @THR)

@nipponsteel @DebatingHipHop_ She was fantastic. Don’t blame her for the terrible script, which is what you’re doing. If she seemed oblivious to what was going on, that’s because the script made the character seem that way.

@DebatingHipHop_ Blunt sucked . Over the top. And the big finale is her recalling an an abduction? She was completely oblivious to what was going on! Never showed a sign she thought anything was strange in her life. And then they threw in a DUNE-ish line. "I'm not your religion" I laugh at that!

just watched Disclosure Day…. this movie is great if you’re 12 years old or if you’ve only seen 10 movies in your life. just a horrendous story full of plot holes that never created a sense of severity or answered any questions. the script was so bad my theatre was laughing at line deliveries. the colouring, editing, cinematography and filmmaking in general felt like i was watching a shitty Amazon Prime original action rom com. this film lacked a lot of depth and context for a lot of the things going on, especially back story from main characters. Absolutely nothing coming out of the antagonist storyline, like what are we doing? Emily Blunt wasn’t even good in this, i can’t believe im seeing people gas that performance. Probably the worst movie i’ve seen in a long time by a director this big, really disappointed in Spielberg. really stupid, ridiculous movie, sucked. ⭐️ boxd.it/eOfhu5

Disclosure Day was atrociously bad. I mean, potentially one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen. Multiple people got up and left the theaters, people were on their phones, fidgeting and completely uninterested. Uninteresting, corny beyond belief, premise sucked. Acting was just bad. Music cringed me out. This felt like a boomer blockbuster, and Steven Spielberg tarnished himself with this one. Rough watch, if you can stay awake. Save your money.

Disclosure Day is one of the strangest movies that I’ve seen in a while. At its best, it feels like classic Spielberg magic dating back to Close Encounters and ET. At its worst, it had me questioning every creative decision being made. The scene where Emily Blunt throws her cell phone out the car window was straight out of an Ed Wood movie and I cannot believe it made it into the final cut of the film. What a truly bizarre experience. My audience let out a huge groan at the end. #DisclosureDay

I’m still in denial that one of my favorite people is no longer with us. I’m absolutely gutted, words can’t describe how special Oliver was to so many people. Tragedy has taken life way too soon, with so much creativity and vibrance and talent. I’d like to think he’s on his next adventure somewhere in the universe. Horrible horrible horrible, I don’t even know how to process this. Rest in peace Lucas Vignale, Lucas Chaves, Gaspi & Oliver. Love you brother we are all going to miss you @Olivertree
