@LaNativePatriot Congrats.
Any car is better than many can afford. Big win.

@realarmaansidhu @litteralyme0 Nobody said anything about photos. You could upload 4 hour long 4K movies encoded with all your data inside it as chunks. Think of it like cold storage for your most valuable data, encryption would also be possible.

"Private X account. Post everything. Follow no one. Unlimited cloud storage unlocked." 1.5 million people just discovered the world's jankiest backup solution.
It works. Private Instagram does the same thing. Private Facebook. Private Tumblr. Any platform with unlimited uploads and a private setting becomes a free cloud drive. People have been doing this with Google Photos' "high quality" tier for years. The hack isn't new. The realization is.
But here's what nobody in the replies is mentioning: every single one of these platforms strips your EXIF data on upload.
EXIF is the metadata baked into every photo your camera takes. GPS coordinates. Timestamp. Camera model. Aperture. Shutter speed. Focal length. The invisible context that turns a photo from "a picture" into "a memory with coordinates."
Upload to X: stripped. Instagram: stripped. Facebook: stripped. WhatsApp: stripped. Every major social platform removes EXIF on upload for privacy reasons. Which means your "unlimited cloud storage" keeps the image but deletes the story behind it.
A photo without EXIF data is a book without a cover. The pages are there. The words are there. But the when, where, and how are gone. Ten years from now, you'll look at a sunset and not remember which country you were in. You'll see your kid's first steps and not know the exact date. The memory survives. The details don't.
If you actually want free cloud storage that preserves everything:
GitHub private repos. Free tier: 500MB per file, unlimited repos. Upload photos, videos, documents. EXIF intact. Version controlled. Searchable. You can even track changes over time — which is accidentally the best journaling system nobody uses.
Flickr still offers 1,000 photos free with full EXIF preservation. The platform photographers have used for two decades because it was built to keep metadata, not strip it. The interface looks like 2012 but the architecture respects your data in ways 2026 platforms don't.
Google Drive: 15GB free. EXIF preserved on raw uploads. Not through Google Photos compression — through Drive as a file system.
The platforms that strip EXIF do it to protect you from accidentally sharing your home GPS coordinates with strangers. Good reason. But when you're using the platform as private storage, you're protecting yourself from your own memories.
Private X account for cloud storage is clever. But it trades convenience for context. And ten years from now, context is the only part of the photo that matters.
Free storage is everywhere. Free storage that remembers what you were doing, where you were standing, and what time the light looked like that — that's the hard part. And no social media platform offers it.
The devil is in the details. The details are in the EXIF. And the EXIF is in the trash the moment you hit upload.

@Guysloveguns For the racists out there, I wouldn't trust this guy with an automatic sniper either.

@BeautifulKCat @nocontextmemes Yeah, it’s incentivized. 4chan is better in the sense that Africans and Indians aren’t paid a living wage to rage bait.
English

@nocontextmemes This app is fucking cooked, like 40% of the responses are people trying to rage bait others. It is like 4chan where everyone pretended to be a retard, but not nearly as funny
