@Variety No not for this race, sinners wouldn’t have such a fight chance now at winning best picture because the critics skewed favoritism of one battle after another would have drowned out the needed conversations for a film like Sinners which is much more deserving of the award.

@MoviesThatMaher It’s up to Melissa, from what I’ve heard they’ve been trying to bring her back, I hope she won’t let the feelings from the firing hold her back.

I hope all Is put right eventually and they both return. Melissa and Jenna were a refreshing addition to the franchise, I don’t think a franchise and fans love should be punished for enjoying the Scream films but I also don’t think she should have been fired for voicing an opinion for something so terrible.

The boycott was always flimsy, Melissa did it to herself by reposting antisemitism rhetoric instead of just supporting the dying Palestinians without all the extra noise. There’s a genuine love for this franchise that one persons unfortunate predicament can’t take us away from it.

Imagine investing months into trying to a sabotage, leak and get a boycott going for a 30 year old franchise and you didn’t just lose that battle, you embarrassed yourself. The film you tried to hurt ended up being the biggest film in the franchise’s existence. It’s beautiful. See you for number 8!
