This is an unprecedented move by the US presidential administration. For the first time in five years of full-scale invasion, America has lifted sanctions against Russian oil. From now on, foreign countries are allowed to buy Russian oil that was loaded onto tankers before March 12 and is currently at sea. They promise this is temporary, but even if that is the case, this decision will undoubtedly provide new resources to fund Putin’s war machine. That is precisely why Moscow pushed so hard for it in negotiations with the Americans. Unfortunately, this decision only encourages Putin to continue this bloody war.
