@FitnessMamma @WhiteHouse Phil Mendelson, Chairman of the DC Council (appointed by Mayor Muriel Bowser), cast the sole "no" vote on the NCPC's 8-1 approval of the White House Ballroom project. The other commissioners voted yes, with a couple voting present.

Why is the train conductor taking tickets and singing Josh Groban? And there is fiddle music but no such instrument in the stage band? TBH if drinks were allowed in the theater or if the acrobat show wasn’t $18 xtra (w/drink) I wouldn’t be pondering this on here… @MSCCruisesUSA

Interesting: In a new filing to @NCPCgov, D.C. and @Commanders indicate that two parking decks (G1 and G2) will open when the stadium does in 2030. Initial plans called for a third, but it's not included at this point. Still, you can see the scale of the parking decks.

@Bruce_DePuyt @CruiseNorwegian Having the same problem after creating a NCL account online and almost buying a cruise until all of the fees on were tacked on and $2200 trip became $5000. Got essentially the same cruise out of New York minus one sea day on @MSCCruisesUSA with Aurea class upgrades for $3000

@AlexKomaDC FWIW there was originally planned an Oklahoma Avenue station with platforms on the outside (not inside like NY Ave) of the tracks. May be less expensive than a NY Avenue and Potomac Yard which required infill and realignment alexblock.net/blog/2021/11/2…

Some people have raised the same point with me: FWIW, this $300M is the number Mendelson heard from the mayor's briefing.
Maybe a better analogue is an infill station like NoMa, but even that was "only" $84M...

Hmmm. "As the closest station to the new stadium site, the Navy Yard needs an upgrade that Metro officials have estimated will cost $20 million." @WashPost 12/29/2005 So now a Metro upgrade costs 15 times as much? I know there's inflation but this seems quite a bit more.

DCA is the busiest runway in the US yet Congress stupidly added 10 new DCA routes last year against the wishes of the Airport Authority and residents. Small planes divert from RW 1 to 33 - a tweak of the most difficult airplane approach in the US. Slots should not have been added
