@ProfTomEllis I will hire gig science with the appropriate time-to-result of industry: do you know people with the appropriate chops? BTW - the overhead with academic institutes is a non-starter.

This idea needs to be discussed. Science gig economy could be a huge flop but could also be awesome.

@GenScript (3) startup idea: Uber for Scientists - Boston can probably support a scientist gig economy. Profs also encouraged to participate! I shall name this service “Pypt”.

@hhlee @GenScript Turns out - there are many of us - if the pay is market rate: me built my first synthetic gene from oligos in 1995.

@LeadingReport It all stemmed from OBAMACARE! It changed healthcare discrimination language that added gender identity which forced insurance to cover.

BREAKING: 3,000 doctors have filed a lawsuit against Biden’s U.S. Department of Health and Human Services over a mandate that will force them to provide children with so-called “gender affirming” care.

@jbolanosmd @LeadingReport if under 18yro, gender affirming care comes down to 'it is ok to feel the way you do and dress how ever you want' but, unless you have gone to court and demonstrated to a judge that you are competent in such matters, you cannot change your body until the law says you are an adult

@LeadingReport This is how our government works. They do whatever they want and force opponents to spend money to sue them. Whether it's energy, health care, or anything in between... they implement radical policies knowing they have the financial advantage in the litigation process.

@LeadingReport While the lawsuit gives me hope, the fact that it's less than .3% of Dr's in the USA is, frankly, shocking and should be very concerning to people.

@WallaceUcsf Oh my, so many questions: 1) what detergent, 2) solution-comp of the phases, 3) other mechanical forces (e.g. c-fuge), 4) #2 and #3 beg clarity of interface at phase and operator capability to 'pick a single phase' 5) inhibitors present ... try tracking a granual marker?

maybe this is a dumb question: if you have RNA inside granules (phase separated) and you prep the cell for ssRNAseq, will the RNA inside the granules be well-represented among the reads? its hard to imagine RT could get inside the granules. has anyone looked at this?
