Today is the leadership convention of the NDP, Canada’s socialist party The crowd at the convention chanted “Eat the Rich” in unison and then unironically elected a private school educated multimillionaire. Socialists are fun like that.

No Canadian flag. But a flag of a non existent state that is the raison d’être of banned terror groups like Hamas. But they regard Canada as an “illegitimate settler state” characterized by white supremacy and genocide. Tommy Douglas must be rolling over in his grave.

Watching the NDP convention makes one thing clear, they’ve lost touch, and worse, they’ve lost any sense of reality. Performative pandering, division, and the tolerance of antisemitism in political discourse do not build Canada. Blue-collar workers aren’t looking for theatrics or ideological echo chambers. They want real jobs, real opportunity, and policies grounded in the realities they face every day. And to be clear, It’s not workers who changed, the party abandoned them, replacing pragmatism with rigid, out-of-touch dogma. When a party drifts this far from the people it claims to represent, even going so grossly low as to insinuate that construction workers are somehow a threat to women (ew) the outcome is inevitable: it loses credibility, and it loses relevance.

I've sought PMO comment on multiple stories for my Postmedia space, for most of a year. Not a single response. Not once. I keep telling people: Carney et al. are as anti-media as Trump. They're just less direct about it.

@integrity_to @BradMBradford abstained from voting and left the council chamber for the specific vote. He, as he ever has, supported Moise and stuck it to Daniel Tate and @integrity_to. Obviously intentional.

City council voted 23-0 to NOT accept the Integrity Commissioner's report that Moise violated his oath by insulting a constituent with hurtful, unsubstantiated slurs at a budget meeting. The moral compass of city council - or whatever was left of it - is now in advanced decay. The electorate is watching.
