IP Data Release for 2025 Week 46 @Starlink is now advertising IPs geolocations in a staggering 173 territories worldwide, adding Kyrgyzstan (slated for a 2025 launch), Uzbekistan (2026), and Turkmenistan (2026) in the past 2 weeks. Additionally, tiny Montserrat, a Caribbean island under the British flag, also started being advertised for IP geolocation, closely followed by its GA announcement by Starlink. @viasat added Canada to its IP geofeed ! This may be related to the upcoming launch of ViaSat 3 Flight 2, a geostationary satellite for North American region internet coverage, or the existing government-military service covering the Canadian Arctic. Among the cloud hyperscalars, @Azure made substantial expansions to its IP allocations to the "usgovvirginia" government region in Northern Virginia. Changelog: docs.getfastah.com/changelog/data…

Our API services are operating normally despite the AWS us-east-1 outage today. Both @awsmarketplace and @Azure Marketplace products are 'A' OK.

Decoding your AWS bill

Well, it depends. Cloud and CDN IPs get reassigned by geography and purpose all the time. Mobile carrier IPs get repurposed across states/provinces very frequently. Fixed ISP/broadband consumer IPs are relatively stable. So even if one's model is "good enough" (latency, routing tables, hopse etc.) it's a lot of denoising each day every day. Not to mention passing the "fitness for purpose" test.

How hard is it to find the latitude/longitude (at city resolution) of every IPv4 or IPv6 address? I mean from networking first principles, not a commerical DB.
