Building my foodstuff and CAC registration business in this country has taught me that motivation is good, but resilience pays the bills. I remember one day I went to the market with the money I had carefully planned for restocking. Before I got there, the prices had changed. The same goods I bought the previous week could no longer fit into my budget. I stood there calculating and recalculating like a WAEC Mathematics question. Then there are customers who will ask for the price of rice, beans, garri, vegetable oil, and every other item in the shop. After answering for almost thirty minutes, they'll end the conversation with: "Okay, let me get back to you." Till today, some of them are still getting back to me. The CAC registration business has its own drama too. Someone will rush into my DM saying: "I need my business registered urgently." You clear your schedule, explain everything, answer all their questions, and prepare the documents. Then suddenly, "Let me think about it first." Think about what exactly? 😭 But through all these experiences, I've learned something important. Business is not just about making money. It's about patience, trust, consistency, and showing up even when sales are slow. Every successful foodstuff delivery, every business name approved by CAC, and every customer who returns reminds me that progress is happening, even when it's not obvious. Nigeria will test your patience. Business will test your faith. But if you keep showing up, one day you'll look back and realize the struggle was preparing you for the growth.
