Michelle and I were saddened to hear about the passing of Dexter Scott King. Dexter was the youngest son of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Coretta Scott King, and dedicated his life to protecting their legacy. As Chairman of The King Center, he inspired a new generation to continue their work for justice and equality. Our thoughts are with his wife Leah and the entire King family.

Tesla Shanghai Plant Set to Launch Upgraded Model Y Tesla plans to launch a revamped version of the Model Y SUV from its Shanghai factory, responding to tough competition from other Chinese carmakers, as reported by Bloomberg. Mass production could kick off as early as mid-2024. The 2024 version is anticipated to feature more noticeable changes in both its exterior and interior, going beyond the recent October update that included new wheel designs and ambient lighting, according to insiders who preferred to remain unnamed. Tesla Model Y is a highly popular electric vehicle (EV) and ranks among the top- selling models worldwide. In China, almost 75% of Tesla’s sales come from the Model Y. Thoughts Tesla is updating the Model Y in its Shanghai factory to compete better with Chinese carmakers like BYD, which had a significant increase in sales last year. BYD is now the top-selling car company in China and is predicted to lead in EV sales in 2024. Tesla knows that Chinese car manufacturers have a big share of the market, and they don’t want to lose ground. It seems likely they’ll update the Model Y, just like they did with the Model 3 recently. The main challenge is to make the Model Y more affordable while increasing its range. Anticipate noticeable changes both inside and outside the car. The competition will be tough, and Tesla is gearing up for a challenging and prolonged effort to stay ahead in the dynamic EV market.
