Nobody tells you this, but you've spent 20 years building someone else's business with your skills. Spend the next 2 building your own. That's the only leverage shift that matters.

People usually avoid setting boundaries with friends and family because they fear damaging the relationship. In reality, the opposite happens. Being clear about your time is far more respectful than quiet resentment and becoming increasingly unavailable. Relationships that cannot handle a healthy, clear limit tell you everything you need to know.
