That whole thing about the Democratic Party being "Nice," Yeah...put that on pause for a while. Why? Having a "nice" mindset when things are about to get silly doesn't exactly foster the most resilient "you" there is. Personally, I like a "Functional Savage" mentality for periods like that. Functional Savages tend to move forward much more than backward. They're far less timid and more assertive. They see threats as something to squash, not run from. Don't worry; you can shift in and out of those "characters" with ease. Just make sure you don't slide into a "nice" or "laid-back" character when the one the moment is calling for is a "Functional Savage." If you're thinking, "But that's not me!" that's my point. Don't try to navigate through things the current "you" would find impossible to deal with. Get out of yourself and into someone who can.
