The production of an EV requires more mining, refining, battery production and power generation over a standard petrol or diesel car. Battery minerals are dug up and processed. Across the full chain, EVs cut CO2 by only 20%. But on top of that, batteries degrade. Over an EV's life, one battery replacement will collapse any CO2 advantage. EVs also add major electricity demand. They do not erase the old energy system. They load more pressure onto it. If you want to charge your EV at night or when the wind isn't blowing, then it will be 100% fossil fuel powering that. EVs are not green. They are virtue signaling on wheels.

300 miljoen voor de Peel en 300 miljoen voor De Gelderse Vallei (eigenlijk plan Veluwe). Klinkt mooi van onze minister @ministerLVVN. Niet slecht om budget vrij te maken voor die regio’s. Ik ben een voorstander. Maar laten we dit even in perspectief plaatsen. Deze 2x 300 miljoen stond vorig jaar al in de voorjaarsnota van @FemkeMarijeW , kortom geld dat eigenlijk allang uitgegeven had moeten worden, althans, een aanzet tot executie in de praktijk had al moeten plaatsvinden denk ik. Dan kom ik tot mijn punt van kritiek. De boeren in de Gelderse Vallei hebben pakweg 700 miljoen nodig tot 2035. De vraag is hoeveel van die 300 miljoen dus naar ‘de boeren’ gaat. Of liggen ze aan de laatste speen? Ik heb de indruk - ja dit mag ik niet schrijven - dat we hier dus met een communicatie-actie te maken hebben. Waarom ik dit zeg? Ik heb de documenten eens nagekeken, en zie geen doelstellingen, plan met budget. Heb ik niet goed gekeken? Wie kan helpen? Is dit net zo metaforische als die tien steden van #D66?
