Today, on November 11th, we stop for a moment of silence… but why? Here we explain why Remembrance Day is so important and why it’s vital to keep remembering not just the past, but the lessons it teaches us for the future. 🌹A national two minute silence will be observed at 11am today

Last week, the Army Benevolent Fund planted nearly 50 Remembrance crosses in the Field of Remembrance at @wabbey. Each cross carries a handwritten tribute from an ABF beneficiary or supporter, honouring a fallen comrade or loved one who served in the Army. Among the dedications are messages from veterans like Mark Harding, and well-known supporters including @BearGrylls, @NickyAACampbell, @Levisonwood, @JamesBlunt, and @GylesB1, who joined our chief executive, Major General Tim Hyams CB OBE, at the opening ceremony on Thursday 6th November. The ABF is honoured to take part in this year’s Field of Remembrance, organised by our partner charity, @PoppyFactory. Earlier this week, our team had the privilege of visiting one of the incredible activity camps run by @FriendsofFAB, a partner charity we proudly support through funding. FAB organises fun and empowering camps across the UK for bereaved military families, creating a safe space for connection and adventure alongside others who’ve experienced similar loss. This week’s camp was packed with exciting activities like sailing, windsurfing, paddleboarding, and more. We had the chance to meet families, volunteers, and beneficiaries who’ve all felt the impact of this meaningful partnership. A huge thank you to the FAB team for the warm welcome and all you do to support our Armed Forces community. 💛 #ForSoldiersForLife
