Eric Galburt, @GalburtLab , associate professor of biochemistry and molecular biophysics at @WUSTLmed, received a new 5-year $2.3 million @NIH grant to research DNA repair.

For those who will be in #SanFrancisco for the @BiophysicalSoc meeting, make sure you come hear Ankita's platform talk on Wed, Feb 23rd (2157-Plat). She will detail how oxidative conditions lead to UvrD1 dimerization and helicase activation via a specific 2B domain cysteine.

@Lohman_Lab already beat me to it, but really elegant work by graduate student Ankita Chadda in the lab reveals a new twist on UvrD-family helicase dimerization. Perhaps most exciting are the implications for DNA repair in M. tuberculosis. pnas.org/content/119/8/…
