Battletech rule update: Ammo explosion is not as fun as it used to be. Mechs used to be vaporized from ammo hits. Now, there is a cap of 20 damage to single ammo explosion, and you take less when equipped with CASE and CASE II. You also only take 1 pilot hit from the explosion rather than the 2. This really comes through as "well, we want the game to be more friendly to new players and less catastrophic", which goes against a lot of what made Battletech Battletech. Honestly, this goes in hand with the new focus on "matched play" CGL is trying to push because they want to be GW SOOOOOOOOOO bad. Sidenote: other explody things had their rules changed too, but that I am less worked up about. Any explosive components (gauss, imp heavy lasers) now deal 2 damage per Crit slots. That is a reasonable change and makes math easier overall.
