This year - still aged only 20 - Operations Manager Tom was approved to teach the next generation of RAAus instructors.

One job that will not be replaced during the next 20 years is flying planes. AI excels in predictable tasks but struggles with unpredictable, situations such as severe weather, malfunctions emergency decision-making. An RPC can be the foundation to a number of different careers.

Computer won't start? Headsets not working? Tyre looking a bit flat? Fuel tank getting low? Need a circuit diagram for the wall? Go and see Tom!

He is talented with IT and graphic design, so on rainy days he is kept busy creating illustrations for GoFly Online. CFI Damien was so confident in Tom's multi-tasking abilities, that he bundled up the tasks he didn't like doing and created an 'Operations Manager' role for Tom.

By Dec 2023, he completed his flight + ground training and at 18, became the youngest RAAus Instructor in Australia. In 2024 he completed his Snr upgrade exam, required teaching hours, solo recommendations & became a Senior then Supervising Snr instructor.

Tom completed his RPC in 2022 in year 11, working part time to pay for his lessons. In 2023, he flew in the mornings, worked at Coles at night, and completed his Nav and Passenger endorsements. By Oct he completed the minimum command hours to start his RAAus Instructor Training.
