@GrahamAllan Completely - but that is not what we are talking about here. It is about an approach to learn and get better that will excel your ability to understand and learn that is available to them.

0% was the answer. Not a single one out of room of 20-30 IT students raise their hands when I asked if they did anything in/with opensource. I had expected at least one or two. They all just consumed. That surprised me.

@maxandersen We should normalise allowing developers to walk away at the end of the week and enjoy their weekend not expect them to work on open source.

@maxandersen I don’t think it should, what percentage of Doctors, Layers, Accountants do you expect to work for free? I suspect it’s less than 10%. Software is unusual in that some employers pay people to work on open source but I’m wary of just expecting it from developers

@lpoolcouncil, why have these alley repairs in Woodfield Road/Chatsworth Avenue L9 been completed using tarmac rather than reinstating the original cobbles. The repair is welcome, but residents are messaging me to say they want the original cobbles reinstating.
