Incredibly excited to see Canada play today. The women got us here - led by Christine Sinclair. They made it possible for Canada to succeed in soccer, and to know we can. Brilliant.

We are in a relentless Arctic #heatwave - Siberia is literally on fire right now and it's set to continue. Temperatures will comfortably exceed + 30 °C within the Arctic Circle over the next 10 days at least. It is a staggering + 20-25 °C warmer than it should be... [THREAD]

New study: if we stop emissions immediately, Arctic still warms 5C/9F by century's end. We're not stopping global warming any more; we're fighting like hell for a level that civilizations might survive. #ClimateStrike theguardian.com/environment/20…

I arrived home from my uncle's funeral to find 4 of my 5 story brownstone home under 3 feet of water. Everything I own, destroyed. Every wall, piece of artwork, personal photos, furniture... All because my cat accidentally turned on a sink a few days ago while we were gone.

@VIA_Rail My trip this summer on Via rail (Winnipeg-Tor) was delayed more than 14 hours as a result of the train having to pull over and wait for another small train to pass. I love train travel but implying like you won’t “hit traffic” like the cars in the video is completely misleading.

@Trench11movie @graysonmatthews Yeah, appreciate that you highlighted that part. We really liked the score! It was really interesting to find out that Grayson Matthews is a collective and a creative production agency and in no way @GraysonRMoore!

SHARP OBJECTS: I don't know any more about it than you do (read the book, but long ago), but I will say that Adora's husband Alan gives me the creepy-crawlies.

@SteveBurtch I definitely agree that the World Cup would be better with Italy and The Netherlands. I just think Iceland was a bad example of a team that makes for less entertaining viewing. Iceland is far from the worst team at FIFA, and proved themselves a good tournament side at Euro

@SteveBurtch @dellowhockey Iceland made the final 8 in euro and have revolutionalized the sport in terms of grass roots development programs. A country of under 500,000 people that can make the big teams sweat is, to me, far more exciting than watching Italy go out in the round of 16.
