@StephanEwen @julianhyde @ApacheCalcite There might be some confusion in this article. SQL streambuilder is a product sitting on top of Flink SQL , not an alternative engine.

@julianhyde @ApacheCalcite Yes, I was thinking the same. Got to try it out, but honestly, what Flink implements in terms of streaming SQL operations isn't easy to beat. The amount of built-in functions and rules it has for incementalizing operations. Add to that CDC, temporal joins, match_recognize, etc.

I heard these guys are going to be pretty awesome...
