Like IDK what to tell you brother, we've known the issues for years. We need Congress - you - to open our wallet for an ungodly number of missiles (and launch platforms) of all types, authorize 250+ B-21s, as many F-47s as we can buy, max F-35A line, and buy KC-46s out the wazoo.

the amount of alpha lying latent in archival issues of soft talk, wired, spy, the new yorker, etc is unparalleled and largely un-mined and while this might be sacrilegious to say in the age of monitoring the situation, i truly believe that the best way to understand the present is just read a bunch of longform from the 80s/90s and understand the past in a way that most people who lived through it can’t even conceptualize

People saying Cincinnati is better are crazy.
London is on a completely different level. You can eat Thai, Turkish, Jamaican, Lebanese, Colombian, Indian - not just “versions,” actual legit spots run by people from those places. You could try something new every day for a year and still not run out.
And the scale matters. ~9 million people vs ~300k. That alone tells you what kind of city you’re dealing with.
Culture isn’t even a debate. You’ve got places like the British Museum and Tate Modern, world-class theatre every night, and parks everywhere. Not little patches of grass either - actual proper parks.
Then the safety part… it’s not even close.
London is around ~1 per 100k for murders.
Cincinnati is 20+.
That’s not “a bit worse,” that’s a completely different category.
And just in general, London is one of the main cities on earth. Finance, culture, history, travel - everything runs through it. You’ve got the London Underground, flights anywhere out of Heathrow Airport, people from everywhere, 300+ languages being spoken.
Meanwhile if someone’s idea of branching out is going to Chipotle… that kind of says it all.
It’s just not the same tier.

veganism is not inherently a morally superior position. the vegetables and fruits you consume are also harvested via immense cruelty & exploitation, not to even mention indigenous practices or food deserts. if you care about animals, the position to take is anti-capitalism.
