The Senate Committee on Health, chaired by Sen. Jackson Mandago, conducted an oversight tour across Nakuru, Baringo, Elgeyo-Marakwet and Nandi counties to assess healthcare delivery, infrastructure, and resource use. The Committee noted severe hospital congestion due to staff shortages and called for urgent recruitment and improved equipment. Concerns were also raised over underutilization of the Facility Improvement Fund and pending debts to KEMSA. Sen.Richard Onyonka and Sen.Chemitei Cheburet emphasized maintenance, clean energy adoption and better service delivery, while urging reforms to enhance efficiency and patient care.
