@hyperbridge That P2P FX volume wasn't informal behavior; it was a glaring demand signal for borderless, instant settlement. Traditional cross-border payments bleed businesses with expensive intermediary fees and 3-5 day settlement delays.

Everyone saw P2P FX volume and called it informal behaviour. We saw it and called it demand signal. We’re building the infrastructure it was asking for.

Prediction: Onchain FX will be the next narrative for Defi. But the winners in this category will be infrastructure that enables both cross-chain & same chain fx swaps via a single interface. Quote me.

The data makes one thing clear: this isn’t a technology failure - it’s a market structure problem. Stablecoins already achieve near-perfect FX efficiency globally, but in Africa, liquidity fragmentation and limited competition distort pricing. Where access, banking rails, and market makers are missing, spreads expand. Close the liquidity gap, and the promise of onchain FX becomes real.

Stablecoins were supposed to fix FX. Globally they match interbank rates (0.05% spread). In Africa the spread widens to 3%. Same technology, 60x difference. The problem isn't the tech, onchain FX has a liquidity gap. HyperFX will close it!

Nigeria, Turkey, Argentina: hundreds of billions in crypto transactions, most of it stablecoins. But when users try to swap back to naira, lira, or peso, they hit 3-19% conversion spreads. Stablecoins spread fast in emerging markets. Liquidity infrastructure to exit them doesn't.

80% of surveyed Nigerians hold stablecoins. 95% prefer to receive payments in stablecoins over fiat. But spending stablecoins in these countries remains high friction as the liquidity layer for onchain fiat is fragmented or non-existent.

@hyperbridge DOT liquidity engine in motion

The Polkadot DeFi Singularity keeps spreading $DOT across multiple chains. So far, 332,680 vDOT incentives have been claimed by liquidity providers across Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum, and BNB Chain, with over 5M $DOT already bridged into these ecosystems. Liquidity keeps flowing through Hyperbridge while $DOT spreads to other chains.

At our side event during @EthereumDenver, @seunlanlege from @hyperbridge talked about what mass adoption of DeFi might actually require. Simpler products. Cleaner user interfaces. And applications that feel like normal financial tools. In many cases, users may not even realize blockchain is powering the system underneath.
