@wynne_jon Excellent rehearsal for our musicinthecity.org gigs net weekend. Great to put a show together with Georgia as our guest poet to bring more ideas and words to the mix. Cello, smallpipes, piano, clarinet, flute, guitar banjo - its all coming together!

@KathrynGray I find that my poetry “is” me - I suspect you may be the same. The practise & posturing beforehand sometimes refines things but it is also a process of stripping away what doesn’t work to confidently leave just you & your poem - ie the genuine article and not the persona/actor.

Genuine: I fret so much in anticipation before poetry readings—I rehearse the person I am going to be so many times beforehand. Then the evening comes—and I am only myself and say nothing of the sound bites and perform none of the attitudes I’ve rehearsed in the mind. (1/2)

Christmas Feast at Dode Church - what a brilliant evening.

After battling the elements we arrived at DodeVillage.com And had a great time - lovely people excellent meal and we had a blast providing the entertainment. What a great venue. Thankyou for hosting us at your very special place.

All the rehearsal & practise done. It’s pack up the car and head out to the gig in the morning. We are performing at the fabulous Lost Village of Dode in Kent (dodevillage.com) bringing Christmas cheer to the revels.

Countdown to a rather special event next weekend. All the poetry songs and music written. One last practise then its all systems go.

@Y6MrsM Heartbreaking and heartwarming. To leave a job/profession you enjoy but also having the strength to say ‘no more’. It’s a tough call but the right one. Good luck with your next move 👍🏼

Now that it’s gone out to parents I can share that I have handed in my notice and as of December 20th I will no longer be a teacher 😢 You can’t pour from an empty cup and I’ve lost the love I once had for my job. Onwards and upwards in 2025 ✨

@Glastomichelle It’s sad but for example the last 2wks I have seen v few messages/post just dozens of bots/AI pics of women who love poetry & underwear it would seem. I must have blocked a couple of hundred in a week. Now weve got the strumpet & muskrat to contend with it’s not going to improve!

Really sorry to confirm we cannot attend Verse in the Vault @musicinthecity tomorrow. We looked at the possibility of mixing pre-recorded material with live but its just not the same. We’ll live to fight another day and play again.

Sadly @InVerse_Sound will not be at @musicinthecity in the medieval vault tomorrow. Damned Covid has got me 24hrs before our gig 🥴 Gutted that all the prep & rehearsal wasted and anticipation crushed but the safety of our audience is the top priority. We'll play another time!
