Training grants from the NCI or other NIH institutes should open to all trainees. Never understood why trainees who are not US citizens or permanent residents, but have a legal visa for training, are not eligible. This needs to be fixed.

A not-so-little side note: some #Travelbans are still in place, so all my empathy goes to whom still cannot reunite with their loved ones. Again. Pandemic sucks, but government non-science based decisions suck even more. 3/3

Many international students, postdocs (and some faculty) have it extra difficult right now because they cannot leave the US and visit family & friends in their home country, which they likely haven't seen for years. Think it's important for PIs in the US to know about this.
