@JohnJHarwood @RandyEBarnett If Obama had a son, he would do great things like his dad, not run his mouth on social media like you! Georgetown should be ashamed of you, I know I am!

Today's SCOTUS ruling is a corrupt assault on the voting rights of Black and Brown Americans.
Justice Kagan is right. Section 2 is now essentially a dead letter.
Republicans want to gerrymander their way to power because they know it's their only way to win.
We'll keep fighting fire with fire. The voters won't forget this.

The Voting Rights Act enshrines equal opportunities for underrepresented groups to ensure they have a voice in our democracy.
This Court's appalling decision to gut the Voting Rights Act undermines the trailblazing and morally necessary work of the civil rights heroes who risked everything to guarantee equal representation for us all.

"Why do I bash Trump? Because he’s earned it. He’s in our faces each and every day—he’s turned all of life into political life. So we are left with a choice: passively accept your lot as a victim in his altered reality, or resist it and fight back."

Today’s Supreme Court decision effectively guts a key pillar of the Voting Rights Act, freeing state legislatures to gerrymander legislative districts to systematically dilute and weaken the voting power of racial minorities - so long as they do it under the guise of “partisanship” rather than explicit “racial bias.” And it serves as just one more example of how a majority of the current Court seems intent on abandoning its vital role in ensuring equal participation in our democracy and protecting the rights of minority groups against majority overreach.
The good news is that such setbacks can be overcome. But that will only happen if citizens across the country who cherish our democratic ideals continue to mobilize and vote in record numbers - not just in the upcoming midterms or in high profile races, but in every election and every level.

I really hate to inadvertantly amplify someone like this - but MY GOD. The overt racism just makes me sick to my stomach - and they point fingers at Dems?! (Turley is no better.) @GeorgetownLaw - I am appalled that this man is a professor at your school.

If Obama had a son, he’d attack the White House Correspondents Dinner like Cole Allen.
