@coalcountrywvu Absolutely 77 was worn by two other consensus All Americans as well as Bosley. Hate taking it out use let the best tackle wear it. Have 9 be for playmaker, etc. Only exception is 44 obviously just on a different level in impact.

Love this idea. I really like what LSU does with #18 and think it would be really cool for WVU to do something similar with #5.

McAfee says #WVU should retire #5. I disagree. I think the numbers should be honored by allowing only select players to wear that number. Like how the Cowboys honor 88.

@shackalicious If it can get colder than that I don’t want to experience it. Was absolutely freezing in the half empty student section. Wind was flat brutal.

To this day, this was the coldest game I have ever been to.
People in the stands were wearing hunting gear to stay warm.
On Thanksgiving night that year as well.

@__DylanRichards @coalcountrywvu I love the gold helmet for the Gold Rush and maybe the occasional Appalachian Tiger on the road every other year or so. Totally fine with burying them too. Blue helmet should be THE look.

@5thDownCFB Why’d UCLA leave the Coliseum? Did the Raiders squeeze them out? Always curious why they moved to Pasadena. Had never considered what is sorta obvious that UCLA/USC shared the Coliseum until I saw some old film with neutral blue/red endzones.

UCLA's Westwood campus in 1928 when it opened. Also the year UCLA joined the Pacific Coast Conference (PCC, forerunner of Pac-8/10/12)
The LA Coliseum opening in 1923 appeared at the time a great stroke of fortune. World-class venue right down the street. It turned out to be a curse
UCLA had the entire West Side to build a stadium through the 1950s. By the 1960s the NIMBYs in Bel Air and Brentwood had shut down the possibility . . . . .
Now UCLA is in a fight w/the Rose Bowl 28 miles from home and a near-impossible fight to build a stadium near campus
