@notjessewalker Your review doesn’t quite convey just how bonkers Death Wish 3 is, but it’s not your fault, for words cannot do so.

I gathered a bunch of movie reviews & micro-reviews that I wrote for other places—blog posts, articles, etc.—and added them to my Letterboxd page, some of them lightly edited and some not. Everything from DEATH WISH 3 to THE EAST IS RED. letterboxd.com/notjessewalker…

@AncapAir @mises Can you explain in more detail, including what you mean by “compromised,” and why you would expect an organization to maintain its relationship with someone who personally attacked its leadership and staff over private internal matters in the most public way possible?

Even from the face of what Hoppe posted, it’s clear that your claim is not true. Hoppe personally attacked the current leadership and staff of the Mises Institute based on allegations that have nothing to do with Milei or Israel. The Milei thing was an extra dig, and a frivolous one at that, as it was based on a passing remark (about Milei generally, not foreign policy or Israel) in a lecture by a leading Austrian economist.

The Mises Institute is not a serious organization whatsoever anymore. They removed the best living libertarian because he completely correctly opposes a Zionist war mongering scumbag, Javier Milei. Mises is a regime think tank at this point, no different from Cato and Reason. Never give them your money again.

@AmySwearer From the outset, critics have charged that Illinois's FOID card requirement was enacted, like many gun laws before it, to disarm/arrest blacks. Regardless of motive, it's a flagrant violation of both the Second Amendment and the Due Process Clause.

Today's example of gun control being wielded in dystopian ways against ordinary citizens is co-sponsored by Chicago PD and the Cook County D.A.'s Office. Chicago keeps arresting and prosecuting gun owners over the government's own bureaucratic mistakes. cbsnews.com/chicago/news/b…

The new Pixar movie Hoppers was not propaganda from the left so much as it’s propaganda directed at the left—far left protester types need to calm down and work with the establishment, specifically Gavin Newsom, to work for incremental change.

It makes it more difficult to reimpose them, and importantly it makes it more difficult (if not impossible) to change them from day to day with no notice. And there is value in more precedent prohibiting the executive branch from making policy in the absence of clear authorization by Congress. It is part of the Court's overall reining of the executive branch, which is a very good thing if you think the constitutional separation of powers is an important safeguard for liberty.

Everyone is reacting to the SCOTUS ruling against Trumps tariffs, but it won’t impact anything Brett Kavanaugh pointed out it’s just a procedural ruling. The tariffs will continue under a different statute “In essence, the Court today concludes that the President checked the wrong statutory box by relying on IEEPA rather than another statute to impose these” While it’s fun to run victory laps or panic while you get the chance, reality still matters It’s important to pay attention to reality cause the narratives will all have to bend that way eventually The reality of the situation is that this will creates some logistical headaches and busy work but it will not significantly impact tariffs It’s a masturbatory ruling triggering a wave of similar reactions A symbol of what politics has become or always was

If POTUS attacks Iran without even getting a sign off from Congress (which isn't really enough to be "constitutional" to begin with) he should be impeached and Congress should cut off funds for the conflict. Otherwise Congress really has no reason to exist. They become a prop.

NCLA Senior Litigation Counsel @jacobhuebert joined Nina Totenberg on NPR's Morning Edition to discuss the Trump v. Cook case. The president "has to be able to remove people who he doesn't want to work with. Otherwise he's being forced to share executive power with someone he doesn't want to share it with." -Jacob Huebert Listen to the full segment below. ⬇️

PSA for @JDVance: The executive branch can’t sidestep Congress’s role in matters of war and occupation by obtaining indictments. You don’t get to avoid the Constitution of the United States because you brought charges.
JD Vance@JDVance

And PSA for everyone saying this was "illegal": Maduro has multiple indictments in the United States for narcoterrorism. You don't get to avoid justice for drug trafficking in the United States because you live in a palace in Caracas.
