@lauriewhitwell When you write ‘under pressure’ you mean ‘ with an elbow in the face’, right?

Leeds ahead with second big chance inside 5mins. Instinctive finish by Okafor, but Bogle gets cross in far too easily past Ugarte + Yoro can't head far under pressure from Calvert-Lewin. Ugarte gave ball away for Calvert-Lewin shot too. Bad first start under Carrick so far. #MUFC

@StretfordPaddck Clear foul. Calvert-Lewin not even close to hitting the ball. Ridiculous that it wasn’t looked at again

8 steps to real core strength (No gym required). Most people think they'll "outgrow" home workouts, but they're wrong. You just have to know how to make the moves harder over time. Even if you never get to Step 8, the journey between 1 and 4 will build serious strength. Comment F8 and I'll DM you my free guide to get started.

I haven't stepped foot in a gym in 11 years. A pull-up bar. Set of rings. My backyard. Best shape of my life at 46. You don't need a gym. You need a system. Reply "F8" and I'll send you mine free.

@henrywinter @pulpy The overrating of Rogers is a fascinating one. Scores a few belters and is really good on his days but he’s not had a particularly good season by any stretch of the imagination. 3 goals and 2 assists in 19 games in 2026 to highlight that (amongst other similar stats).

@pulpy Foden is a magnificent player. I voted him FOTY but he’s in an area where England are strong Bellingham, Rogers, Palmer etc. but I felt it was unfair on him to give that false 9 role last night. Not at his best this season, needs to get back into City side. Cherki superb though

England do have talent. Just didn’t show it in the two friendlies. But they have good players. Tuchel will travel around, checking on players before naming his World Cup squad at the end of May. Here’s the 26 I’d take to the World Cup… Pickford, D Henderson, Trafford; James, Alexander-Arnold, Konsa, Stones, Maguire, Guehi, Livramento, O'Reilly, Hall; Rice, Anderson, Bellingham, Rogers, Wharton; Kane, Watkins, Rashford, Gordon, Saka, Madueke, Eze, Palmer and Bowen.  Caveats: James, Stones and Watkins have to prove form/fitness. Would have had Garner in midfield but O’Reilly can cover there (and Hall a good left-back). Overloaded with attackers for impact from bench, pens after 120/players off and need to get Watkins in.  More significantly, the man whose decisions matter, Tuchel will go with Jordan Henderson, possibly Burn, definitely no Alexander-Arnold or Maguire. Watkins at risk. #ENG

@Busby_UTD @AndyMitten @TheAthleticFC Yes. I think it’s telling that journalists and fans will much rather jump to conclusions than research the context and check his intent. Labeling people without context is, ironically, much more dividing than what Ratcliffe said… (as stupid as it might seem on face value)

@TOTDevils I don’t think it’s that complicated. Under Amorim, it was about a project, building something from the bottom, hoping to find consistency & results. But the latter was not a short-term goal. That didn’t work out & now it’s about short-term focus & results to set up next manager

Jason Wilcox has told the Manchester United squad that the aim for this season is to qualify for the Champions League. The timing of this has piqued Carl’s interest - leading to another call-out for an interview with the club’s director of football... #mufc

@oskarutd @cmwinterburn I don’t suggest we should ‘trust’ them. To be honest, most managerial decisions are ‘wrong’ in the sense that they only last a short amount of time & will get replaced. Just look at Chelsea, Spurs, L’pool before Klopp. So it’s not an easy decision & depends on many factors.

@JesAmbro @cmwinterburn To do nothing or to fire him weren't the only options. We were at the meeting so we do not know if Wilcox went too far or not. But to not have plans for next steps any way, especially after a really slow start by Amorim is just incompetent. So why trust them to get it right.

In the grand scheme of things the FA Cup doesn’t make a blind bit of difference for Manchester United, but there is a definite sense the club’s technical department and ownership have thrown away the season by sacking Amorim when they did. It could easily have waited till May.

@oskarutd @cmwinterburn I agree that they still haven’t shown they are competent enough to run MUFC (even though process and result rarely follow in a straight line) . But after Amorim’s statements, they would also have looked incompetent & indecisive *not* to do anything. Between a rock & a hard place

@Busby_UTD @mrmujac No, I’m saying it’s a completely irrelevant point when you don’t have evidence. All teams want to attack, that’s why they play football. So stating it is pointless. It’s not hard to grasp unless you insist on being a contrarian

I’m not a coach, an expert, a sports motivator nor a pro analyst…but I know when I’m bored. The game is just not entertaining any more. Could we get any worse by playing players in their right positions, man marking in defence, stop passing sideways and just try to attack? 🤷‍♂️

@oskarutd @cmwinterburn That would assume that results will get worse now than under Amorim. Very little evidence to support that. Having two games without an interim makes no difference at all. Writing that after a loss (that Amorim has had several of) is hyperbole and ‘easy’ - no skin in the game.

@oskarutd @cmwinterburn So it’s not necessarily about timing but about planning (or lack of planning). I wouldn’t disagree with that. But that’s not what the original tweet says

@JesAmbro @cmwinterburn I would have. They should have been prepared if they were having doubts about Amorim. They weren´t prepared. Still they are thinking about temorary solution. It´s sleeping on the job. At a crucial time.

@Busby_UTD @mrmujac Of which I asked you to provide evidence. It’s easy to claim intent (you said ‘obvious’), it’s much harder to prove it. I’m sure they would like to attack (all football teams do so it’s a moot point), but for whatever reason they don’t and it’s coming out as poor implementation.

@Busby_UTD @mrmujac That’s not evidence at all. Because we *should* be playing attacking football doesn’t mean we actually do it - that’s the issue. It’s boring & predictable. Whether that’s on the players or the manager or a combination doesn’t matter. It’s not entertaining (I agree w/@mrmujac)

It should’ve been done the first few times that Amorim showcased that he’d refuse to any level of change & constantly put his own pride over what’s best for the club but I’m glad that we didn’t let this season of huge opportunity spiral (too much) before pulling the plug. Lessons need to be learned at how we got into & stayed in this situation for far too long — especially if the DoF disapproved for some time now if not from the start. Excited to see Fletcher’s 4231/424 with the first team squad until we hopefully allow Wilcox to appoint someone in keeping with the club’s ethos — youth, courage, success.

@Busby_UTD @mrmujac How do you see the ‘obvious’ part? And no matter the intent, the OP is right: it’s extremely boring watching MUFC for the most part. Football, in the end, should be about entertainment & with the players at MUFC’s disposal, there should be more entertainment. It’s that simple

@utdrobbo Two things can be right at the same time: structurally, there are severe defensive issues (and MUFC has (statistically) been unlucky), but the better team didn’t win today. He’s right on that account
