I used to have a very negative perception of you. Even hearing your name or seeing the Binance logo would immediately trigger suspicion and discomfort in me.
I believed you were simply a highly skilled magnate who carefully crafted your public image, and that everything surrounding you was strategically designed to support a carefully constructed success narrative. Because of that, I also assumed your book would be no different, just another polished, selective, and perhaps exaggerated piece of marketing for your empire.
I dismissed it in my mind without hesitation: It is probably just marketing. Not worth my time.
But one day, driven by curiosity and a lingering sense of unresolved skepticism, I decided to pick up your book and read it.
What I did not expect was how quickly I became absorbed in it. Not because of flashy storytelling or polished narratives, but quite the opposite, it was the simplicity, honesty, and at times rawness of your writing that kept me turning the pages.
Each chapter did not feel like a curated success story, but rather a real human journey: failures, wrong decisions, pressure, risk, and moments when everything seemed to be on the verge of collapse. Nothing was avoided, nothing was hidden, nothing was artificially perfected.
And it was precisely this unpolished truth that made me, someone who once strongly disliked you, pause and reflect deeply.
I began to ask myself: Have I misunderstood everything from the very beginning, or have I simply been viewing it all through the lens of my own bias
By the time I reached the final page, I realized something had changed in me. Not only my perception of you, but also my understanding of the entire crypto market, of persistence, of risk, of long term vision, and of how far a person can go when they dare to walk a path no one has walked before.
That book, to me, is no longer just your story. It has become a lesson, a deeply honest and meaningful lesson for myself.
Dear Changpeng Zhao, I am not writing this to flatter or praise you. This is a sincere apology from someone who was once too quick to judge.
Thank you for writing that book.
Thank you for having the courage to share your story truthfully, knowing that there would be people like me, who once misunderstood, and later had to reconsider their own judgments.
Today, I no longer see you through the lens of bias. I only hold respect, for a man whose journey has made me rethink many things.
Thank you once again for your dedication and courage in writing such a genuinely honest book. The lessons within it do not belong only to you anymore, they have now become a valuable part of my own journey as well.
