5 years seemed so far off in 2019. But with every milestone, scan, and anxiety filled oncology visit I knew I was getting closer to “graduation”. Today I’m incredibly grateful and blessed to say I’m 5 years cancer-free, otherwise known as “medically cured”. Thank you to everyone who has ever said a kind word or prayed for me. Thank you to my incredible Urologist, Dr. Duggan, and my Oncologists, Dr. Gore and Dr. Capra. This said, early detection saved my life, and I know so many are not as lucky as I have been. Just a few weeks ago, I saw yet another guy who was a husband, father, and son, pass away from this terrible disease. If you’re a guy, self-examination is key. If you are worried about any potential changes in your health, talk to a medical professional. It could save your life. Finally, thank you to @b___hester. Finished Project Hail Mary in preparation for the movie coming out, and it is officially one of my favorite fiction books of all time. Cannot recommend it enough.
