@jakequery RIP Bob. ❤️🏁 I had to dig out our CDs last night just to make sure we still had them. My wife (fiancé then) and I went to Castleton in 1995 and bought a Christmas CD and had the crew sign it. Bob & Tom were the soundtrack of growing up in Indy in the 80s and 90s. #bobandtom

@tonydindy His drive in 1988 made me a fan. He has a forever spot in the man cave. Fast and fearless. He was driving the car down to the grass that day. Happy for Roberto, but I was crushed. Crawford didn’t get the pole in 1992. Blew an engine and they couldn’t get it changed in time.

@brycedininger @SHUNCK @alexcain33 I think it was 1988 during the race that the flush wheels were suspected of making the car ill handling in the corners. So the team had Goodyear mount the standard wheels for the rest of the race. Worked out pretty well!

@jakequery I was an intern at Purdue’s athletic department in the early ’90s, Ed would come up to Mackey for big games. He was always the best. He interacted with our student athletic board, joked around on the sidelines, and then the second the lights came on, he was a pure professional.

I started hanging around WRTV after, as a 6th grader, I called Ed Sorensen to ask if I could job shadow. I never left. For all my HS, college, & early adult years, I was given opportunity, friendships, & guidance. Great memories. I’m very sad to hear of today’s mass layoffs.

@alwaysrealracin That fully embroidered Anheuser Busch eagle logo on the back of the uniforms was the best. Absolutely my favorite year of NASCAR, this is when I became an ossessed fan. The drivers, personalities, cars, paint schemes, chrome wheels, drama… 1987 had it all.
