Northeastern Ontario shutting down as a severe winter storm brings 50-100cm to the region. Watching the snowbelts east of Lake Huron for Monday night into Tuesday as widespread blizzard conditions may occur. Vastly different EC vs TWN forecasts for the event however.

Large highway closures across the traditional snowbelts in Huron & Perth Counties. The only thing preventing this from being a full-blown blizzard is the significant melt from the weekend/early in the week that destroyed our snowpack.

After 2-3" of rain overnight across ACW/Huron-Kinloss, many roads are completely impassable and "washed out".
Maitland Valley CA has issued a flood warning for the region with flooding expected to rival 2008 and 2018 regional flooding events.

Maitland Valley CA issued a flood warning for the Middle Maitland between Brussels and Wingham, in addition to the existing flood warning near Ethel/Henfryn.
Warning notes that water levels may surpass weekend peaks with Wednesday rainfall.

Maitland River running very high through Brussels. With an additional 1-2” of rain to come between Tuesday and Wednesday, we could start to see more notable flooding in the area affecting roads and properties… Lots of flooding across the rural roads in the area. Some closures.

Likely some pretty wicked water flows on Wednesday across parts of the snowbelt given recent rainfall and snowmelt.
Bruce Road 6 b/w Ripley and Bruce Road 86 experienced a washout over the weekend. Can’t imagine hours of endless moderate rain will help with that…

All roads have finally reopened.
Road closures were first issued on Monday, January 19th and lasted until Saturday, January 24th.
Some regional schools had 5 snow days this week.
An active week topped off with arctic air and frigid temperatures.
