The fact that there was a national broadcast that ended the period of mourning and our own President saying he'd allow the family to do as they pleased just for his government to take it to the courts? It's crazy how we've normalized having someone that can just lie and go on.

The one thing that UPND cadres have failed to see is that if the President came out today and said, “I won’t be in attendance”, ECL could be buried even today. The only thing causing the impasse is that the family do not want our President there.

10 months ago today, a former president died. His successor heard. Since then, the successor’s primary concern has been the same: not grief nor concern for the deceased’s family, but self-service. “I must attend the funeral or else there will be none.” After failing to get his way, he moved to block the burial and waste millions of taxpayers’ money on hiring lawyers in a foreign land to secure his interest. That is his mind in its purest form: what is in it for me? Not empathy. Not compassion. Not dignity. Just a presidency where even death gets measured in personal benefit. The man is EVIL. He does not care about anything and anyone except for their use and benefit to him. Vile. Despicable.

It’s not hatred but common sense which most people lack.
Sworn affidavits were filed in the South African High Court clearly telling us that they don’t have any intention of returning back to Zambia, and you want us to believe the fake excuse of an unwritten wish that the Head of State should not be present at a State funeral of a former Head of State 😂😂😂😂

When this was still fresh, for the first time in my life, I read every word of a court affidavit. Esther Lungu is clear and consistent, they do not want the President at the funeral. To solve this issue, the empathetic thing to do is for the President to announce that he won’t attend. It’s that simple, it’s not complicated.
