When Mitchell Mesenbrink got to the podium, he went through and shook the hand of the other All-Americans at 165 - all but Mikey Caliendo’s. When Mesenbrink stuck out his hand to the Hawkeye, Caliendo refused to acknowledge him. Mesenbrink shrugged and moved on.

Van Ness almost missed the awards ceremony. Was not on the podium when announced, which brought a loud round of boos, but sprinted onto the scene just in time to get his award before Valencia's was presented.

Interesting to see @Pitt_WRES on here. I know there's a lot of disappointment in not getting an All-American, but it was going to be an extremely tough road with those seeds. Bringing seven of eight back for Day 2 was an accomplishment in and of itself.
