I'm honored to have played a very small role in this story. Hats off to @carriecochran, @amyafan, @rosiecima and @greenblattmark for their reporting and Colin McIntyre for his videography.

🏆 Scripps News just won a National #Emmy for our investigation into #Flint’s water crisis. Nine years later, residents are still dealing with lead in their water. A federal judge cited our work when he found the city in contempt last March. Watch here: trib.al/23bpfbS/

For 20 years, Terps have worked to restore the ancient Roman city of Stabiae, destroyed in the same volcanic eruption that buried Pompeii. Now, @UMD_MAPP is digitally mapping the site to preserve this rich history—and bring it to life. go.umd.edu/1rvp | #FearlesslyUMD

Hard to imagine getting so close to 2000 year-old frescoes that you can see hairline fractures in the plaster - but that is exactly what these @UMD_MAPP students did this summer, in an effort to document the Villa Arianna outside Pompeii. go.umd.edu/stabiae @UofMaryland

Hi quick media literacy on breaking news — maybe it’s helpful rn. If you see a variances in coverage, there are many reasons for that. 1) outlets have dif. standards for how to address speculation on crime scenes (ie what to say ocurred before law enforcement confirm) 🧵

With the semester around the corner, I want to update my undergraduate #deathpenalty class. Looking for new assignment ideas, short documentaries, podcasts, zoom guest lecturers (I’ve got no $ for that last one). Any suggestions? #capitalpunishment

Here is @onthemedia's guide for interviewing conspiracy theorists and other disinformers running for office. The first one is by far the most important. And I'd go further: ask yourself why you're doing this— then share that answer with the rest of us.

In March, we spent a few days in North Dakota. While for many, March brings warmer weather and spring. In North Dakota, it’s still winter. It snowed every day we were there.  @scrippsnews
