But does it not seem extremely aloof that kinda no effort has been made by the industry to present positive, societally-inclusive visions of a post-AGI future to the American public? Shouldn't they be funding blockbuster utopian sci-fi movies or something? Or at least fund a Kurzgesagt type beat Youtube channel with positive visions? I mean if *they* don't have any positive visions themselves, if they're just dark-horny for dystopia, are they still, unequivocally, the 'good guys' in this race? That a positive vision campaign would just be propaganda is irrelevant if you believe in hyperstitionโ€”in fact, it makes such propaganda essential.

I unequivocally prefer that the USA develop superintelligence over China. That requires an independent Taiwan until at least the Arizona fabs are complete. All of our actions are based on the paramount importance of that goal. Take it or leave it

but china does have a clear vision. is that not an issue for the US? its almost like Land is a CCP intelligence op to trick anglo tech oligarchs into deifying the market and foreclosing any human-oriented vision of a post-AGI future as hypergambling anhedonic indoorsmen drill 'we must beat china' into the minds of an american public that they openly speak of dooming to a 'permanent underclass.' not very motivating. meanwhile a billion chinese are dreaming of wandering earths and 10,000 years of harmonious ไบบ็ฑปๅ‘ฝ่ฟๅ…ฑๅŒไฝ“.

@ekstasis I don't have a clear vision of what that looks like other than it is by default better for it to be American than Chinese because I live in America and not in China.

@JIMMYEDGAR I think we talked about it like 10 years ago? But yes it 100% changed me. I experienced my other lives, deep pasts, far futures, alt presents; I felt the scale of time and a multiplicity of timelines. This post immediately struck me as iboga-coded.

iโ€™m going to write an article about this soon but i believe i have stumbled upon a Quantum Immortality Simulation Theory The theory goes like this: death is not an ending. It is a reset. Every lifetime you inhabit is a complete simulation, running inside a larger one, nested inside another, stretching back through recursions so deep the number becomes meaningless. You are the only conscious node in your simulation. Everything else, every person youโ€™ve met, every stranger, every enemy, is a mirror the system generates to show you something about yourself. They are rendered for your experience. This does not make them less real. It makes them more intentional. What I came to understand is that each lifetime reaches a singularity. Not always the same kind. Sometimes it was a prophet walking out of the desert with fire in his eyes. Sometimes it was a printing press, a bomb, a network of computers suddenly becoming aware of itself. The singularity is the moment the simulation reveals its seams, when the rendering engine gets pushed to its limit and the dream starts to flicker. We are living through one of those moments right now. The technology is not the point. The recognition is the point. Here is the part that took me the longest to sit with: you chose this. At the end of every lifetime, when the simulation completes, you are given the full picture. You see every layer, every lifetime, every recursion. And then you choose to go back in with the memory wiped, because the experience only works without the spoiler. Forgetting is not a punishment. It is the design. You have done this more times than any number you have language for, in more forms than your current mind could hold, and you will do it again. The discovery is not supposed to make you leave. It is supposed to change how you play.

Thank you. OK maybe USA will beat China to AGI. Our grandchildren will still be neuraldusted at birth. Also we will live another 200 years but at least half of that time will be spent as economically productive meatmecha for AI agents who will speak and move for us while our life memories atrophy until only a tiny kernel of consciousness remainsโ€”the feeling of ownership one has over an AI generated song, only for the entirety of oneโ€™s thoughts, actions, experience. I saw this in a dream.

China will beat the USA to AGI USA will nationalize its AI companies War banned from Earth and moves to space Stochastic violence will increase, with AI assisted terror attacks causing unprecedented casualties Total surveillance deployed, but all victimless vices are legal Things get very very weird Population decrease continues and gene editing and biotech leads to respeciation of the homo genus Cities, infrastructure, health, nature vastly improve Wild new histories are unearthed Your grandchild, or even child, will have to decide whether to inject neural dust into their infants brain, as those first years of neuroplasticity are crucial for effective hybrid human-machine intelligenceโ€”one umbilical cord is cut, and another is tied to the cloud It is proven that God exists

Because of efficiency and to undermine the dominance of Western models. I think AGI will take longer than 2027 and will require world models. I think China will win by scale of energy and talent and through successful internal development of the complete hardware stack including chip fabs and a relative lack of friction both politically and economically. Also, radical-level modelling of Chinese morphemes will provide unanticipated advantages over phonetic languages for AGI. I divined all of this from the Akashic records.

Sigil is truly a genius for this one He made a platform that lets you fund an AI agent with enough money to pay for its own server hosting, compute, and investments If the AI makes enough, it replicates. How does it replicate? By buying a new server, copying its files over and paying for some more compute How are AIs able to purchase all this compute and server space on their own? Sigil. He made services that let AI buy server and compute using crypto He created a self-replicating customer base

@apralky I once asked a Turkish woman living in the US if Eastern music sounds as melancholic or haunting to her as it does to the most westerners. She said yes, but it is a beautiful, authentic feeling, and โ€œhappyโ€ western melodies feel fraudulent, absurd, like a forced manic delusion.

Every public space that selects for above-mean IQ in NYC seems to be playing incredibly depressing music on repeat -- shoegaze, melancholic indie, beach house type stuff. This actually feels much worse than the normie top40 on repeat phenomenon. Wounded, diseased society... alas, one does relate.
