The boss of BP described their energy business as a “cash machine”‘and Shell boss said it had been a “momentous” year for profits but both UK and Scottish government refuse to ask for some@of that profit to help households pay their increasing energy bills.

On the day energy bills go up, Shell announces $19 billion of profits. That’s £27,000 a minute. The SNP and Tories refused to back a windfall tax on big energy companies and give money to help people with their bills.

We have key workers living in poverty. The strike has been about getting paid a decent wage, being able to pay the bills. Anyone claiming it’s about political games needs to take a look at themselves. Last year we clapped all key workers. Now it’s time to stand with them.
