Iranians on X have increasingly warmed up to Indians — and it's no surprise.
Pakistan has openly backed the Islamic Republic, which benefits hugely from its existence. After all, Pakistan's full name is the "Islamic Republic of Pakistan." Iranians were also unhappy with Oman's attempts to save the regime, but Pakistan's support has been far more blatant and egregious.
In truth, Iranians have long preferred India over Pakistan. Bollywood has a real fanbase in Iran; Pakistani media, almost none. Iranians visit India regularly, but tourism to Pakistan from Iran is negligible. And the internet is flooded with Pakistani accounts proudly defending the Islamic regime.
This recent shift has simply emboldened a long-standing preference.
To us Iranians: No actor on the world stage deserves respect if they support a regime that tortures, rapes, and kills its own citizens.
