So wonderful the Tramway Museum at Crich, Derbyshire is still going strong. I have many happy childhood memories of visits in the 1970s. And since then trams have made a fantastic comeback in many cities.

70 years ago today ATV in the Midlands went on air for the first time. The Monday to Friday ITV Midlands offering alongside ABC Weekend Television.
From 1968 to 1981 ATV broadcast seven days in the Midlands.
