@AfzalAminTweets @LondonVision @Badger5000 I had an appointment at a laser eye surgery clinic and they told me I’m not suitable because my cornea is thin and my pupils are wider than they should be.

@SohaibTaj2 @AfzalAminTweets @Badger5000 IF corneas are too thin for laser eye surgery it is almost always possible to still treat using other technologies- such as #StaarICL using #Insight100 for safest sizing.

@AfzalAminTweets @LondonVision @Badger5000 The driver. Regarding laser eye surgery, there’ll always be a minority who are not suitable for the procedure. One requirement for laser eye surgery is the cornea has to be of a certain thickness, 520-540 microns is right.

@SohaibTaj2 @AfzalAminTweets @Badger5000 Actually it isn’t the corneal thickness per Se that determines candidacy. It is extensive scans and technology assessment including epithelial thickness mapping (not always performed by laser clinics) which determines if you do not have #keratocouns.

2 yr (+) of masks left me unable to wear my rigid lenses…. keratoconus + astigmatism meant I didn’t think I had many options but yesterday afternoon I had implantable contact lenses @LondonVision & honestly, just WOW!! <24hrs & vision already better than it was in my glasses 🤩
