@tvidas @seanhn @rantyben There are existing DARPA programs that are effectively "CGC2" esp. CHESS (Dustin Fraze, who inherited CGC) and things under Sergey Bratus which are effectively tackling some of the things that CGC (purposefully) over-simplified.

So, I have an opinion on the CGC that I've mostly kept to myself as it's the sort of thing that may come across as dissing competitors, but let me prefix the following by saying I mean this in good faith and am genuinely curious to know if I have missed something: IMO the CGC

@laosong @gannimo @seanhn Second this - I wonder how many papers really focused on AEG against CGC binaries. Honestly, I am not aware of many. Showing a list of such papers will help this discussion.

@gannimo @seanhn Please correct me if I was wrong, my impression is that there are more papers on AEG against the Linux kernel than against CGC challenges.

One important optimization: split out parsing basic blocks from lifting. Then lifting can be parallelized. With this and other optimizations, B2R2 beats other lifters on lifting speed for x86 and x86_64 code.
