The way Denji offering to run away with the girl comes back into play later when Reze makes the same offer to him….yeah I’m never getting over the anime cutting this.
The idea ch 2 just retreads info is dead wrong. It sets up a lot for Denji’s character arc

I said it before, but removing/condensing ch 2 from the anime did a number on how first time viewers perceive Denji. You miss out on great characterization/foreshadowing and a better understanding of why he feels stuck with Makima
