For those that follow theatrical gross details. From my industry expert friend who refuses to take credit: “The math is pretty simple when Christmas is on Thursday to calculate the rest of the weekend.   If it follows the norm, the 3 day FSS gross should be about double the Christmas Day gross and the 4 day gross including Christmas Day is about 3 times the Christmas Day gross.” Long live the movies.

Begin your screenplay with the end in mind. Do you want to: • Sell it outright. • Have a writing sample. • Make a low or micro-budget film. • Just get better. • Write what you love and who cares what happens. Know what success looks like so the goal and the screenwriting are aligned. Make choices towards that. This whole endeavor is already difficult. Don't make it impossible.

It's been a slow year on the TV and Film front, but literally as I'm on the eve of my big trip back home to Indonesia for my 40th birthday - I get an offer for a co-star on an HBO show! Trying to rearrange flights as we speak but a wonderful problem to have.

I watched The Fall Guy last night. Is that one of the ones that tanked in theatres? Because it was really good and I'm not a fan of action movies in general. Maybe things need longer theatrical runs for people to realize they exist?
