HAHA funny story. We joined a Battle of the Bands in 2016 and had to think of a band name to put on the submission form. Pressed for time, I suggested “The Ridleys” after my celebrity crush, Daisy Ridley. We settled with the name, thinking our performance would be a one-time gig.

au = alternate universe, which you cannot point "mischaracterization" at because that's clearly the point of all of it! nacoconfuse ka ata anon bc there are aus that are canon emplied and ppl love to use the word "ooc" in aus when it shouldn't be.

then you’re not reaching the right place. in all of my AUs, i have never once attempted to intentionally ‘mischaracterize’ the characters i use. i write plots that suit the characters’ ACTUAL personalities and try to stick with it. the problem here is not my writing.
