I saw a video from the Aba content creators conference where a guy dropped his food on his seat and went out and a lady carried his food, put it on the ground and sat on his seat. The guy returned and asked the lady to leave his seat but she refused. Nobody said anything and the few who did were telling him sorry so that he would leave the seat. It was when he pushed the lady away that they bundled him out of the conference. What annoyed me wasn’t just how everything switched and how the girl made herself look pitiful. It was because it was fellow men who walked this guy out. They kept quiet when the fracas was happening and only swung into action after he pushed her away from his seat. Why the double standard? Shalom!

Upon my return to Abuja, I was parked by a soldier on duty who asked where I was heading, and I mentioned FCT. He politely asked if could lift one of his colleagues to Abuja, and I said it was fine. When I was few meters close to Giri junction, I asked the officer his route, he was heading to Zuba while I was going through Lugbe axis to the town. I told him Zuba isn’t far. Transport is around 2-300 Naira. I asked if he was going to stop there(Zuba), or he was heading somewhere. He then told me he was going home to see for the first time after 10 months, his newly born twins. No permission was granted over the period. Sadly, he had to make the compulsory trip because his wife had called that one of the babies had died. And she urged him to come see the other twin in case he will die too. I asked him why he didn’t leave earlier than he left. He replied that he waited with the hope that salaries will be paid, since today is second, but it wasn’t, unfortunately. How then do you intend to make it, I asked him. He showed me all the money he had on him –4,500 which wasn’t even enough to get him to his destination. I could not help than give him 20k and I took his phone number, giving him my words that I will call to get information about the sick baby. I want to ask a question, please 🙏🏻 Are these the soldiers we expect to lay down their lives in our protection? You’re owing soldiers, and you want them to be effective while fighting insecurity? I saw people crying that Dickson blocked them. I check their comments to see what caused it and 100/100, it’s either they outrightly insulted him or were derogatory. You can raise objections but have respect for the next man. If you have decided not to have respect for the next man, then whatever actions they take like blocking should not affect you. I would do exactly the same.
