The attempts to bring MAD magazine to TV started as far back as 1973 when NBC commissioned an animated pilot vult.re/2jCIjuh

I hope people can understand what this means to us a nation; both as a culture and as a functioning critical society. MAD wasn’t JUST a humor magazine. It’s not just the end of an era; it’s the end of... comicbook.com/dc/2019/07/04/…

This makes me very sad. MAD Magazine was a big part of my childhood. I can still quote some of the "articles." Eg., the one that parodied the TV series "I Spy."

Adding my voice to the chorus: Mad magazine introduced me to political satire. It was anarchic and anti-establishmentarian and just clear enough to get through to my young mind, even if I didn’t understand many of the American references.

Growing up, my cousin John was the editor of #MADMagazine. Visiting his office was like going to a candy store. He’d bring me to the archives & tell stories & intro me to the writers & when I was 13 he actually put me in the mag as a kid wondering how Robocop goes to the bathroom

Thanks, @MADmagazine, for befriending me in childhood and hanging out with me well into adulthood, all the while keeping me laughing. I'll miss you.

MAD magazine was easily one of my biggest influences as a kid. al jaffee, Tom bunk and sergio aragones were my hero’s and MAD was a complete escape for me when times were rough growing up. The Meat Boy logo was a riff off of alfred e neuman for god sakes! RIP MAD.

Can’t believe it. This was my first exposure to satire, I obsessed over this, bought old editions, I would read it out loud and add in my own funny voices. Such a massive influence. hollywoodreporter.com/news/mad-magaz…
