🧵One month since our Lottie went ahead of us. It feels unreal like a bad dream & having so many years ahead without her is daunting. God has been our rock & we remind ourselves & our twins daily that though it appears otherwise, the moon is always round & God is always good.

The twins are ten months today! So I thought I’d share some recent cuteness from them. Holland does this cute little thing with her eyes every time she takes a bite of food, and Harvest may have a future in beatboxing. 😂

1/ #GayMarriage destroys every facet of the natural family. What is the natural family? A man and a woman make a baby. That means: - A mother and a father in the home - Biological parent/child connection - Two adults - Children generally spaced out - Adults of childbearing age Those are intractable biological realities. 🧵

No. It’s not super probable, but in large family registries single sex families happen more than you would expect by chance. And recent genetic work shows there are actually genes that have created single-sex-bearing family trees in recent times! My wife’s family going back a few generations is like 90% daughter-bearing!

I’ll never forget, once in Sunday school at an OPC church here in Texas, the pastor asked, “If you lived in Nazi Germany, and you had Jews hidden in your house, and Nazis came knocking on your door asking where any Jews are, would it be sinful to lie?” Obviously, the answer is no. I was shocked when two men said yes, it would be a sin to lie to Nazis, Even if telling the truth would get innocent people killed. To be clear, I grew up in the OPC and had never encountered this nonsense, and I do not think this is normative in the OPC. However, the fact that Spangler used to be OPC, and is now praising Hitler, demonstrates that it isn’t a phantom threat either. It has to be stamped out. What about the Hebrew midwives who lied to the Egyptian soldiers to protect the baby boys from death? Were they not praised as courageous and virtuous? What about Rahab who hid the Hebrew spies and lied to the soldiers of Jericho to turn them away? Was she not redeemed and rewarded by God? The commandant in Exodus 20:16 says, “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.” In other words, do not maliciously spread untruths or use your words to harm innocent people. To aid the Nazis is to break the commandment. To deceive the Nazis is to protect the innocent, defy evil, and partake in an historic tradition of honoring God by thwarting evil.

Above all I pray that you would know Gods love deeply and personally and spend your lives making God look glorious as He made you uniquely a woman to do.

The world will try to fix you with self esteem and inward focus. I pray you would see the image of God you bear as the source of your worth and learn to esteem others more highly than yourself knowing that the only way to find true life is to lay yours down.

Happy #InternationalWomensDay to my 4 precious little women. It’s a strange time to be raising girls though wer’re getting lots of practice 😂. Our culture’s confused about what a woman is on even the most foundational level, though every era has faced its own distortions.
