My wife asked me not to help her younger brother with money anymore. She said every time he had a problem, he called me before he called his own parents. If he was short on rent, I got the call. If he needed help with school fees or some business idea that had gone wrong, my phone would ring. I didn't completely agree, but I understood where she was coming from. So I stopped. A few months later, he called again. I looked at the phone, remembered my promise, and ignored it. He called twice more. I ignored those too. The next morning, my father called me. He almost never calls during working hours. He asked me a strange question.
