Yesterday, $ICP basically closed flat. Meanwhile, Longs got wiped out 8.5X more than shorts (once again, mostly on Bybit). I hope you understand that this behavior is not normal, nor expected in normal market conditions. My point: trading derivatives with up to 100× leverage is extremely detrimental for retail investors, who more often than not end up losing 100% of their principal. Honestly, I don’t understand where these longs keep getting the money from. If they had simply boycotted these products and bought spot instead, the problem would be much smaller. Understand one thing: exchanges and institutions are printing money, while retail investors are losing money. The cycle will keep repeating as long as there is liquidity available.

Years of systemic manipulation of web3 markets made them dumb and dumber. Now vaporware usually does better than real tech, and Web3 investors are so punch drunk they can't tell the difference between real tech and a narrative, and influencer noise and actual adoption. Ahem.

The YTD $ICP balance on exchanges is down ~2M ICP, which makes sense given the drop from $2.9 to $2.2 in less than 2 months. Investors are accumulating at lower price levels. However, the long-term trend looks different. ICP is still inflationary, and exchange supply is expected to increase. As I mentioned yesterday, supply on exchanges is up: YOY: +15.8M 📈 Last 6 months: +5.1M 📈 M70 is essential to reduce inflation, especially during a bear market.
